Tyler Clementi, a student at Rutgers University committed suicide after a video of him having sex with another man was streamed on the internet by his roommate and a friend. Dharun Ravi and and Molly Wei were both charged for hate crimes and invasion of privacy. Some people may argue that Wei and Ravi should also be charged for manslaughter, since their actions led to Clementi committing suicide. Others think that this incident is not a case of manslaughter, since Clementi was not physically killed by Wei and Ravi.
Another case that the committee looked at was when James Jones, whose daughter suffers from cerebral palsy, threated to harm children who had been bullying her. Jones' daughter had been bullied so much that she had been put on suicide watch at the age of thirteen. This led to Jones storming on the bus and threatening to kill the kids who had been bullying her. Jones was then arrested.
The argument as to whether or not the father should be fined was posed and debated on. As of now Jones was arrested, but not sent to jail or fined. However, whether or not he went too far is debatable
